Destruction
Dominic Helder Resendes

I turn on the news channel, the day after the storm to see nothing but Damage
The sidewalk crumbled like a burnt cookie, drenched in the pool that the sky
     has formed
Trees that were once standing strong and confident, collapsed and crying at
     the horrific sight of Destruction
The family, looking at their collapsed house and all the memories that it
carried, drifting off through the Destruction of the street
How did this happen? Why is there nothing we can do about this? Our people
are dying and we are too self-conceited to actually do something
But you don’t care, Go ahead, just sit there and watch them suffer
I for one will take a step forward and help out no matter what it takes
